One of the oldest ghats in Varanasi and one of its two cremation ghats, named after the truthful King Harishchandra.
Harishchandra Ghat is among the oldest ghats in Kashi and, with Manikarnika, one of the city's two cremation ghats. The ghat is named after King Harishchandra of legend, remembered for holding to the truth at great personal cost.
